PARRISH, Fla. -- Four Wildcats posted sub-80 rounds as Northwestern wrapped up the 2010 Central District Invitational in a tie for 11th-place. NU shot a 15-over 303 over the final 18 holes at River Wilderness Country Club, closing out the tournament tied with 23rd-ranked South Carolina in a very competitive 15-team field.

Northwestern, which entered the final day of competition in 12th-place, posted its second-best round of the tournament, finishing with an overall score of 51-over 915 (302-310-303). Junior Innapha Tantanavivat (Bangkok, Thailand/David Leadbetter Academy), who had struggled through the opening 36 holes, responded in a big way to shoot a 1-over 73 over the final round, her second-best round total of the season.

Sophomore Kylie Fuller (Temecula, Calif./Chapparal) finished atop the Wildcat scorecard for the second time this season, posting a 2-over 74 in the final round and finishing the two-day tournament with a 10-over 226 (75-77-74), tying for 27th among the individual standings. Freshman Lauren Weaver (Scottsdale, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) was five shots behind Fuller, posting a 15-over 231 (75-75-81), followed by sophomore Alexandra Lederhausen's (Hinsdale, Ill./Central) 17-over (73-83-77). Junior Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) rounded out the scoring for NU with her 19-over 235 (79-77-79).

Competing against arguably the toughest field of the season, the Wildcats finished four shots ahead of Missouri (55-over 919) and six shots better than Notre Dame (57-over 921). Northwestern finished just shy of its sixth top-10 finish of the year, trailing 10th-place Texas (42-over 906) by nine strokes.

17th-ranked Florida ran away with the tournament, posting an impressive 7-under 857 and defeating second-place TCU (22-over 886) by 29 strokes. Fourth-ranked Purdue finished third (25-over 889), with Michigan State placing fourth (31-over 895) and LSU, Ohio State and Texas A&M (34-over 898) finishing in a three-way tie for fifth.

Northwestern will have plenty of time to prepare for its next tournament as the Wildcats don't return to the links until March 26th through 28th when they compete in the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas.
