EVANSTON, Ill.-- Northwestern students have the opportunity show off their basketball skills as NU hosts the Big Ten Network "Hoops on Campus" show this week. The show will air Friday night at 9 p.m. CT on Big Ten Network.

"Hoops on Campus" will feature a basketball skills contest, 3-point shootout and dunk competition all open exclusively to Northwestern students. All members of the Northwestern student body are invited to participate in the contests, which will be judged by former NU standout Tim Doyle, former NBA All-Star Jim Jackson and Big Ten Network anchor Mike Hall.

Participants must attend an open try out on Wednesday night, beginning at 7 p.m on the SPAC basketball courts. The contest will be held at SPAC on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Students are encouraged to attend Thursday night's session to cheer on their classmates and represent Northwestern on national TV. During the taping on Thursday fans will be invited to participate in a Northwestern trivia contest, with the opportunity to win NU basketball apparel and food from Chipotle. The Northwestern pep band and cheerleaders will also be on hand to energize the crowd.
