EVANSTON, Ill. -- Wildcat Insider, Northwestern's weekly half-hour show on WGN Radio, will air at 8:30 p.m. CT on Thursday, Nov. 12. The show, which is hosted by WGN Sports Director Dave Eanet and Northwestern Athletics and Recreation Director Jim Phillips, is in its first season.
"Wildcat Insider" is presented by Northwestern Sports Properties, the exclusive multi-media rights partner of Northwestern Athletics.
This week's guest is Joe Girardi, a Northwestern graduate, former Wildcat baseball player and current manager of the World Champion New York Yankees. Girardi was a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-American and a three-time All-Big Ten catcher for the Wildcats from 1983 through 1986. Just last week, Girardi directed the Yankees to their 27th world championship.
Also beginning this week on Wildcat Insider, one segment will be devoted to the Wildcats' bowl prospects. Northwestern became bowl-eligible after its win at Iowa on Saturday.
