EVANSTON, Ill. -- For the fourth consecutive year, Northwestern has had a football student-athlete named to the 11-member Allstate American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Good Works Team@.

Senior wide receiver Andrew Brewer (Tulsa, Okla./Jenks), who earned his degree in June and is now enrolled in graduate school, is the latest Wildcat to earn the prestigious honor.

Extensively active in his faith, Brewer has served as co-President of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes since 2007. As part of his FCA activities, Brewer -- who has stated that after football he would like to join the clergy -- has worked with a church in the inner city of Chicago, helping raise money and speaking to the youth group on a variety of topics.

Brewer also is active with the Harvest Food Pantry, Homeless Outreach/Ministry in Evanston, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), School for Little Children, Children's Memorial Hospital, NU Field Day, Misericordia Candy Days, Special Spectators and several local elementary schools.

Brewer joins Eric Peterman (2008), Adam Kadela (2007) and Joel Howells (2006) as Wildcats named to the prestigious squad. As part of the honor, Brewer is invited to attend the Allstate Sugar Bowl for a ceremony and associated service projects in the New Orleans area.
