EVANSTON, Ill. -- At least eight events featuring Northwestern Olympic sports will be available to Wildcats fans on the Big Ten Network this fall. NU's cross country, field hockey, men's and women's soccer and volleyball teams will all make an appearance on the network.
Women's soccer will kick off the schedule with an Oct. 11 match at Ohio State. The game will be televised live at 11 a.m. CT.
Volleyball is scheduled for three television appearances, beginning Oct. 14 at in-state rival Illinois. Two of the `Cats' home matches will also be televised, Nov. 7 against Michigan and Illinois' visit to Welsh-Ryan Arena on Nov. 25. All three broadcasts will be live.
Men's soccer will play a pair of live matches on the network, including an Oct. 25 game against Indiana at Lakeside Field and a road contest at Michigan Nov. 1.
NU field hockey's Oct. 17 game at Indiana will be televised on delay at 6 p.m. the following day, and the cross country team will also make a delayed appearance when the network airs the Big Ten Women's Championships on Nov. 1.
The Big Ten Network will also provide live coverage of the field hockey and men's soccer Big Ten Tournament Semifinals and Championship, meaning the `Cats could earn additional television appearances this season.
