EVANSTON, Ill. -- Senior Tammy Williams (Roscoe, Mo./Osceola) has been named a first-team selection to the Lowe's All-Senior All-America team based on the voting results of the ballot for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award.
Williams joins Georgia Tech's Whitney Haller, Florida's Stacey Nelson (who won the Senior CLASS Award), DePaul's Amber Patton and Alabama's Brittany Rogers on the first team. All 10 finalists for the Senior CLASS Award were named to either the first or second team as an All-Senior All-American.
Williams is a three-time All-American for Northwestern and the reigning two-time Big Ten Player of the Year. She is Northwestern's all-time leader in hits, runs and home runs and is one of just six players in NCAA Division I history with more runs scored than games played.
A human development and psychological services major with a minor in business instiutions, Williams has performed internships and volunteered at Chicago's Children's Memorial Hospital, the Kohl's Children's Museum, with Special Olympics and with the Girls in the Game program that provides and promotes sports and fitness opportunities, nutrition and health education, and leadership development to enhance the overall health and well-being of all girls in the Chicagoland area.
