EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern took a 1-0 lead in doubles play and never looked back, clinching a 6-1 dual victory at No. 55 William & Mary with four straight-set wins in singles and one more point thanks to a default by the home team at the No. 6 singles spot. The top-ranked Wildcats (18-1, 6-0) continue a three-match road swing with matches at Minnesota and Iowa this weekend.
Northwestern's second and third doubles tandems extended their winning streaks to nine and 10 matches, respectively, with a pair of 8-3 victories against the Tribe. No. 28 Keri Robison and Maria Mosolova bested Klaudyna Kasztelaniec and Barbara Zidek in the No. 2 spot while Elena Chernyakova and Samantha Murray came out on top against Katie Kargl and Carmen Pop to improve to 16-1 in dual competition.
Mosolova was the first Wildcat off the courts in singles play thanks to a speedy 6-2, 6-0 win against Katarina Zoricic as she won her 12th dual match of the season. The clinching fourth point for Northwestern came from the second singles spot where Georgia Rose handled Ragini Acharya with a 6-3, 6-3 win.
Robison moved up a spot to No. 5 where she is now 6-0 on the year following a 6-0, 6-1 win over Zidek. Lauren Lui capped off the scoring for the 'Cats by beating Pop, 6-4, 6-3, while the Tribe took back one point at No. 3, where Kasztelaniec took down Murray, 6-1, 6-2.
Northwestern's match against the Golden Gophers is set to begin at 11 a.m. CT in Minneapolis.
