EVANSTON, Ill. -- Wildcat Sports Marketing, Northwestern's multi-media rights partner since 2001, has changed its name to Northwestern Sports Properties, announced today (April 27) by Northwestern's Director of Athletics and Recreation Jim Phillips.
Northwestern Sports Properties will be the sole source for Northwestern Athletics' corporate partnerships including in-game football and basketball radio on WGN 720 AM, on-premise development and corporate development.
"To be certain, I am extremely pleased to announce the re-launch of Northwestern Sports Properties," Phillips said. "Northwestern has been successful in creating lasting partnerships with our very important corporate sponsors. This new structure will further enhance Northwestern's as well as our corporate partner's visibility throughout the Big Ten Conference and among sports fans nationwide."
NSP General Manager Amy Potter has 12 years of corporate marketing and sponsorship management experience. She will continue to lead the team in the creation of marketing plans and the facilitation of Northwestern's corporate partnerships.
Shawn Adams recently joined Potter and NSP as General Sales Manager. Adams has a multitude of media and sports sales experience with organizations such as the Chicago Bears, NBC, Belo and Media General.
Northwestern Sports Properties will continue to forge relationships with national and regional brands. This opportunity will grow Northwestern's brand by creating fully integrated marketing plans for their Wildcat corporate partners.
The recently re-branded Northwestern Sports Properties officially inaugurated its new name and marketing concept at an event Wednesday, May 18, at ESPNZone in downtown Chicago.
During the event, Potter and Adams officially introduced supporters of Northwestern Athletics to the new marketing plan. Now, as the sole source of Northwestern Athletics' corporate sponsorships, on-premise development and corporate development, Northwestern Sports Properties will only enhance the presence of both Northwestern Athletics and its corporate partners' brands.
"Northwestern has been successful in forging lasting partnerships that allow these brands to be showcased on a national stage," said Potter. "Tonight we were able to show our appreciation for the support our sponsors have given to our Athletics program and demonstrate how the new structure will further enhance their visibility."
Aside from matters of business, attendees and Northwestern staff was able to engage in some friendly competition by participating in the many games ESPN Zone offers.
