WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Northwestern finished round three of the Big Ten Championships right where it started, sitting in fifth place heading into Sunday's final round. The Wildcats shot a 26-over 314 on the day, and are at 89-over 953 (327-312-314) through the first 54 holes, holding a six-stroke lead over sixth-place Iowa.
Sophomore Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) continues to be the bright spot for the Wildcats, she sits on the cusp of breaking into the individual top-10 after a 6-over 78 on the day. Lindenschmidt is tied for 11th at 20-over 236 (80-78-78), and has a three-shot lead on freshman teammate Alexandra Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) whose 2-over 74 was the third-best score of the day. Lederhausen is tied for 15th at 23-over 239 (83-82-74).
Freshman Kylie Fuller (Temecula, Calif./Chapparal) enters the final round within striking distance of the first top-20 finish of her career, sitting tied for 22nd at 25-over 241 (80-79-82). She holds a two-stroke advantage on senior Jennifer Hong (Windermere, Fla./The First Academy), who enters the final 18 holes at 27-over 243 (87-76-80). Sophomore Innapha Tantanavivat (Bangkok, Thailand/David Leadbetter Academy) is at 31-over 247 (84-79-84) while sophomore Rebecca Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) is at 34-over 250 (86-81-83).
11th-ranked Purdue looks to cruise to its second-straight Big Ten Championship, sitting at 45-over 909 and leading second-place Michigan State (81-over 945) by 36 shots. Third-place Ohio State (85-over 949) is four strokes behind the Spartans, while fourth-place Michigan (86-over 950) leads the Wildcats by just three shots.
