EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Big Ten Network has chosen Northwestern's series at Wisconsin May 8-9 as its wildcard selection for the 2009 season. Both games will be broadcast live in primetime to a national audience.
To accommodate the live telecast, both games will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, May 8-9. This constitutes a change from the originally publicized schedule for the series.
The games will be the Wildcats' seventh and eighth of the year on the Big Ten Network, giving Northwestern 15 total contests on the BTN in the network's two-year history -- most in the conference. Including the games at Wisconsin, Northwestern will have played 32 games on national television during the eight-year Drohan era. The 2009 senior class will have played 29 times in front of a national TV audience.
