I'm definitely glad that the weekend has come. After a solid film study and lift this morning, I'm ready to go out and scrimmage again tomorrow but not after a relaxing Friday off from school. My class schedule worked out well for me this quarter to where I don't have any classes on Mondays or Fridays, which makes for a nice long weekend. However, as I'm finding out, my Tuesdays through Thursdays are jam-packed, and I end up having to do a fair amount of homework on the weekends. It is nice to have a little time off during the week to enjoy life. Today I was able to hang out and catch up with my church pastor, get some homework done, and catch the baseball team play Iowa. To top off a fine day, I'm having Jeravin (Matthews), Jared (Carpenter) and Q (Williams) over for a BBQ tonight. At Carp's request, we are grilling burgers and BBQ chicken so I have some work to do in the kitchen.
As for tomorrow, we have another big scrimmage. The offense owes the defense one after last week. The O has had a great response this past week and some guys are really stepping up their game. Zeke (Markshausen) is someone that has really impressed me this spring so far, along with a few young guys like Jeravin and Alex Daniel. We have a ton of talent on this team and we just have to focus on coming together, building trust and consistently improving each day and we'll be in good shape! After the scrimmage, our FCA group has a little trip planned up to Willow Creek Church. We've gone the past couple years and had a blast. As of right now we have about 18 athletes who are going with us. When the service is over, we are heading over to Woodfield Mall to eat at PF Chang's. It should be a great day tomorrow! Anyways, I have to run and get dinner ready! Have a blessed day!
Go Cats!
