GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Playing in arguably its toughest tournament of the season, Northwestern has been led by its freshmen. Kylie Fuller (Temecula, Calif./Chapparal) and Alexandra Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) are tied for 19th overall with a 13-over 153 through the first 36 holes of competition of the SunTrust Lady Gator, with the Wildcats sitting in sixth-place at 55-over 615 (304-301).

Both Fuller and Lederhausen set the tone early for the Wildcats, shooting a 3-over 73 and a 5-over 75 respectively in helping NU jump out to third-place after the first 18 holes. Sophomore Innapha Tantanavivat (Bangkok, Thailand/David Leadbetter Academy) was right behind as well, shooting a 6-over 76 through the first round. Sophomore Rebecca Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) was at 10-over 80 and senior Jennifer Hong shot an 11-over 81 in helping NU to a 24-over 304. The Wildcats trailed only 10th-ranked Duke and 7th-ranked Alabama in the standings.

R. Lederhausen was the key performer for the 'Cats over the second 18 holes, shooting a 4-over 74 to enter the final day third on the NU scorecard with a 14-over 154, one stroke behind both Fuller (73-80) and sister A. Lederhausen (75-78). Tantanavivat sits fourth among the Wildcats with a 15-over 155 (76-769) while Hong is fifth at 22-over 162 after a pair of 81s.

Northwestern enters the final round of competition well within striking distance of a handful of teams as the 'Cats look for their first top-five finish of the season. The Wildcats are three strokes back of fifth-place Georgia State and four back of No. 6 Auburn, who is in fourth at 51-over 611. No. 10 Duke and No. 7 Alabama share the lead at 43-over 603, while the host Gators are in third at 46-over 606.

Final round action gets underway with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. Central time Tuesday morning. Live stats are available at Golfstat.com.
