EVANSTON, Ill. -- Coming off its best individual and team finish of the season, Northwestern returns to the links April 6-7 at the Cowboy Classic in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Northwestern is one of 22 teams in the large field at the seventh-annual tournament hosted by Wyoming. The field will play two rounds Monday and the final round Tuesday at the par 70, 7,133-yard Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale. Each morning's action will begin with a 7:45 a.m. local time shotgun start. There will be no live scoring for the event.
The Wildcats finished a season-best fourth in a 14-team field in their last tournament, the FAU Spring Break Championship. Jonathan Bowers (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) entered the final round as the co-leader before finishing second, the best tournament finish of his collegiate career. Bowers shot career-best rounds of 67 and 68 during the event. As a team, Northwestern put together four rounds in the 60's on the par-71 course at the Spring Break Championship.
