TUCSON, Ariz. -- Senior Jennifer Hong (Windermere, Fla./The First Academy) shot a season-best 2-under 70 over the first 18 holes of the Mountain View Collegiate and enters the final round tied for 11th overall at 1-over 145 (70-75). The 2-under 70 is Hong's best round since shooting a 3-under 69 at the 2006 Mountain View Collegiate, and she enters the final round just one stroke back of Nebraska's Mary Kate Bird and San Jose State's Katrin Delen Briones to crack into the top-10. Northwestern closed out the opening 18 holes in a four-way tie for fifth-place after shooting a season-best 297 in the first round. The Wildcats followed it up with a 301, the second-best round of the season, but due to low scores from the rest of the field the 'Cats dropped into a tie for eighth. San Jose State leads the pack heading into the final round, shooting a 5-under 571 (284-287) and leads second-place UNLV by seven strokes. Louisville (11-over 587), Colorado State (15-over 591) and Nebraska (16-over 592) round out the top five.
