EVANSTON, Ill. -- Senior Tammy Williams (Roscoe, Mo./Osceola) has been named the Big Ten's Player of the Week after leading the Wildcats to a trio of wins over top-10 teams at The Preview presented by Worth.

Williams batted .545 with a 1.364 slugging percentage in four games over the weekend, slugging three doubles and two home runs while scoring five times. NU defeated No. 8 Tennessee twice and split a pair of contests with No. 6 Oklahoma.

Saturday against Tennessee, Williams went 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles before finishing 2-for-3 with a solo home run in that day's nightcap with Oklahoma. In Sunday's first game versus the Lady Vols, Williams doubled and homered in her first two at-bats, prompting Tennessee to intentionally walk her in her next three plate appearances.

Williams' honor is her first of the year and the second of the season for Northwestern. Williams is a five-time Big Ten Player of the Week.
