Duramed Collegiate Invitational - Second Round Results

RIO VERDE, Ariz. -- Sophomore Rebecca Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) followed up her opening round 4-over 75 by shaving a stroke off her scorecard, shooting a 3-over 74 in helping Northwestern jump up to a sixth-place tie heading into the final round of the Duramed Collegiate Invitational. The Wildcats are tied with Eastern Michigan at 46-over 614 after 36 holes, and are within striking distance of second place heading into the final round Sunday.

Lederhausen continued her stellar play at the Rio Verde Country club, landing three birdies on the day and sits in a tie for eighth-place overall with a 7-over 149. Sophomore Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) is also vying for her best finish of the season as she is currently tied for 15th with a 9-over 151 following, three strokes better than fellow sophomore Innapha Tantanavivat's (Bangkok, Thailand/David Leadbetter Academy) 12-over 154. Senior Jennifer Hong (Windermere, Fla./The First Academy) is at 18-over 160 while freshman Kylie Fuller (Temecula, Calif/Chapparal) sits at 27-over 169.

After beginning the day in a tie for ninth-place, Northwestern put together an 18-over 302, the second-lowest round of the season, to jump up into the sixth-place tie and well within striking distance of a top-five finish. The Wildcats trail second-place Toledo (41-over 609) by just five strokes, and are four back of both Minnesota and Arkansas Little-Rock (42-over 610), who are tied for third. Fifth-place Northern Arizona (45-over 613) holds a one stroke cushion over the 'Cats. Kansas (20-over 589) looks to cruise to the team title in the seventh-annual collegiate, holding a 20-stroke advantage over the Rockets.
