EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Northwestern Athletic Department is kicking off its first-ever Wildcat Fund Membership Drive with an incentive-based program for its current WF donors. The "Priority Point Challenge" is a great opportunity for Wildcat Fund donors to earn valuable Priority Points, win exclusive prizes and provide NU student-athletes with a world class experience.
The top three point earners, from March 3, 2009 -- May 31, 2009, will win the following prizes:
First Place: 2009 road trip for two with the football team (mutually agreed upon)
Second Place: One Ryan Field Parking lot pass for the 2009 football season
Third Place: Two Stadium Club tickets to a game of your choice in 2009
How does it work? Wildcat Fund donors will receive 2 points for the first new Wildcat Fund member ($100 gift) they recruit and then 1 point for each additional member that joins the NU family. The goal of Northwestern Athletics is to grow a grass-roots campaign around the city, State and Wildcat nation.
"Chicago is what I call the X-factor for Northwestern in the Big Ten," said Jim Phillips, Northwestern Director of Athletics and Recreation. "Nobody else has the city of Chicago at its doorstep. There are more than eight million people in the MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area) who love college athletics and don't have a connection to any other Big Ten school. That is the group we have to capture, identify, encourage and excite about coming out to support all of our teams."
A new Wildcat Fund donor is considered a person who has never made a Wildcat Fund gift before or has not given a donation since September 1, 2005. The minimum gift is $100 and only new donations to the Wildcat Fund are included in the point challenge.
