EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern returns home to open its Norris Aquatics Center schedule at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, with a combined meet against No. 16 Purdue.
The Wildcats began the season two weeks ago with a loss at No. 14 Indiana, but saw several impressive early-season swims up and down their lineup. Friday's meet will be the first of three home events for Northwestern this season, all of which occur in the month of November.
Headlining Northwestern's efforts this weekend is senior Eric Nilsson (Weston, Mass./Weston), whose times in the 200 free and 500 free two weeks ago rank among the nation's leaders in the early going. Sophomore Peter Park (Princeton, N.J./Peddie School) also had a strong season debut by negative splitting his 1,000 free race against the Hoosiers to win by nearly nine full seconds.
Also out to an impressive start to his senior season is diver Alex Kiaie (Milwaukee, Wis./Nicolet), whose 320 points on the 3-meter board against the Hoosiers not only finished second against the Big Ten's best diving team, but also earned him an early berth at the NCAA Zones.
Friday's meet is a combined meet with Northwestern's 20th-ranked women's team.
