Mosolova Survives Three-Set Match at Indoor Singles Championships

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Maria Mosolova, seeded fourth in the ITA National Indoor Singles Championships in Charlottesville, Va., overcame Marrit Boonstra of Florida in three sets, 1-6, 6-3, 7-5. Mosolova advances to Saturday's quarterfinals where she is slated to meet sixth-seeded Fani Chifchieva of Auburn.

In the women's singles back draw, Georgia Rose won her match Friday against Chelsy Gullickson of Georgia. Gullickson captured the opening set, 6-3, but Rose battled back to win the next two sets 6-4, 7-6 (8) to keep her tournament alive. Rose is scheduled to take on Megan Falcon of LSU in the consolation quarterfinal round at the Boar's Head Sports Club.

After winning her opening round match, junior Samantha Murray came up against Nina Munch-Soegaard of TCU, who on Thursday upset third-seeded Amanda McDowell of Georgia Tech. Munch-Soegaard kept her hot streak going, taking down Murray in straight sets, 6-1, 7-6 (5).
