EVANSTON, Ill. -- Senior Laura Janowitsch (Grafton, Wis./Grafton) has earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V second-team honors as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Janowitsch, a psychology and political science major, is Northwestern's first Academic All-District honoree since Shannon Schneeman earned first-team honors in 2006.
Janowitsch has started all 18 games for the Wildcats and has been active on the offensive end from the outside back position. She scored her first career goal in the season opener against Nebraska and currently sits with two goals and three assists in 2008. Her career totals sit at two goals, 12 assists and 16 points.
Northwestern closes the regular season at 7 p.m. Friday at Wisconsin. The 'Cats currently sit in a tie for fifth in the Big Ten standings.
