Aug. 22, 2008

EVANSTON, Ill. --  It truly will be 'Cats vs. Dogs when the Wildcats take on the Southern Illinois Salukis on September 13 at Ryan Field. As part of Take A Kid to the Game Day, fans can stop by the Brookfield Zoo booth in Wildcat Alley beginning at 9 am. and on Walker Terrace beginning at 11:30 a.m. to receive zoo giveaways and information, participate in child activities and pose for pictures with the zoo's mascot, BZ Bear. Fans will also be able to touch and feel some cool animal furs and skulls. To find out more about the Brookfield Zoo or the Chicago Zoological Society, visit www.czs.org.

The Heroes' Day activities will also begin at Wildcat Alley and will include a climbing wall and dog tags that can be engraved. During the game members of the armed services will be part of the festivities including running the American Flag out with the team entrance, being named honorary captains for the coin toss, the color guard presenting the colors for the National Anthem, an on-field presentation and photos of heroes on the videoboard that were submitted by fans the last few weeks.

The WGN Radio Day activities will be part of the game this Saturday including the WGN Fan Van in Wildcat Alley before the game.  During the game the winner of the NU-SIU Family Feud Contest will be announced.  One family was chosen from all of the entries submitted over the last six weeks to win tickets to the game, a special visit to the Press Box during the game to meet WGN Radio broadcasters, Dave Eanet and Ted Albrecht and an on-field presentation to this NU-SIU House Divided Family.
