EVANSTON, Ill. -
Northwestern's women's fencing team posted a 4-1 record on the opening day of competition Saturday at the NU Duals held at SPAC.
The Wildcats opened with convincing victories over Johns Hopkins (25-2) and Duke (23-4) before topping Temple (17-10).
Ohio State handed Northwestern its lone loss of the day by an 18-9 score before the Wildcats bounced back to close out their day with a 16-11 victory over Penn State.
Action continues Sunday at SPAC with competition getting underway at 8 a.m.
