Four Wildcats Named to <i>ESPN The Magazine</i> Academic All-District V First Team

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Four Wildcats have earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V first-team honors as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Juniors C.J. Bachér (Sacramento, Calif./Jesuit), Eric Peterman (Sherman, Ill./Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin) and Phil Brunner (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) along with sophomore Adam Hahn (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union) were the Wildcats' honorees. Peterman and Brunner are two-time award winners.

To be eligible for the award, a player must be in at least his second year of athletic eligibility, be a first-team or key performer and carry a cumulative 3.20 grade point average.

Bachér is in his second season as Northwestern's starting quarterback, ranking 12th in the nation with 308.8 yards per game of total offense. The communication studies major also is the Big Ten's top passer with 307.0 passing yards per game.

Peterman, an industrial engineering major and economics minor, leads the Wildcats with 53 catches and 608 receiving yards from the wide receiver position.

Brunner is the team's long-snapper for punts and PAT/field goals, and is a chemical engineering major.

Hahn is a defensive lineman with 29 tackles on the season including 3.0 TFLs. He is an economics major.

As first-team All-District selections, the quartet will be placed on the ballot for ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America consideration.
