BASTROP, Texas -- Northwestern is just two shots behind the leader after day one at the Challenge at Wolfdancer, which is being held at the Wolfdancer Golf Club at Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa. The two-day, 54-hole event concludes Monday.
The Wildcats shot a 13-over 605 through two rounds, two shots behind Middle Tennessee State, but ahead of Iowa State, Baylor, Illinois and Boston College.
Katie Trachok (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) shot a second-round 3-under 69, which tied her for the fourth-lowest total in NU history along with Jennifer Hong (Windermere, Fla./The First Academy), Brittany Johnston (Akron, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit). Overall, Trachok leads NU at 3-over through two rounds.
Rebecca Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) and Hong are tied for second at 10-over, while Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) and Johnston sit at 12-over and 13-over, respectively.
Overall, Trachok is in third place, one shot behind the co-leaders from MTSU. Hong and Ledenhausen are tied for 14th, while Lindenschmidt is tied for 21st.
