COLUMBUS, Ohio-- After advancing to the round of 16 at the ITA National Indoor Championships, Samantha Murray (Altrincham, England/Altrincham Grammar) lost to Georgia Tech's Kristi Miller, 6-4, 6-3 on Friday, in Columbus, Ohio.
In the consolation draw, Georgia Rose (Mettawa, Ill./North Shore Country Day) defeated UNLV's Elena Gantcheva, 6-3, 6-0, to advance to the quarterfinals, while freshman teammate Maria Mosolova (Moscow, Russia) beat UCLA's Riza Zalameda, 6-0, 6-0.
In the first round of the main draw, Murray downed Nadia Abdala of Arizona State to reach the round of 16 before falling to Miller. In the quarterfinals of the consolation draw, Rose faces Cosmina Ciobanu of Notre Dame and Mosolova takes on Tatsiana Uvarova of Virginia Commonwealth.
