TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- After the first day of play at the UA-Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate at the NorthRiver Golf Club in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Northwestern is in 12th place in the 18-team field with a 24-over 308 in the first round.

Senior Katie Trachok (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) led Northwestern with a 3-over 74, good for a 16th-place tie on the first day of the three-day tournament. Freshman Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) is in 31st after a 5-over 76.

Rounding out the NU first rounds were junior Jennifer Hong (Windermere, Fla./The First Academy) in 48th with a 7-over 78 and freshman Rebecca Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) in 65th with a 9-over 80.

As a team, Northwestern is one stroke out of a tie for 10th-place, currently held by Texas and Florida. Arkansas leads the tournament after shooting an 11-over 295 in the first round.
