GREENVILLE, S.C.-- After one day of play, the women's golf team sits in fourth place at the Lady Paladin Invitational, just 10 shots behind first place East Tennessee State in Greenville, S.C.

Jennifer Hong (Windermere, Fla./The First Academy) had the best round for Northwestern on the day, shooting a 75, which was good for 10th overall. Freshman Rebecca Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) was hot on Hong's trail with a first-day 76.

Tied for 42nd place overall are Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) and Brittany Johnston (Akron, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) after a first round 79. Katie Trachok (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) followed the quartet while shooting an 84.

The three-day event features a par-72 course, which Northwestern dominated a year ago and won by 10 strokes.
