EVANSTON, Ill. -- Patrick Steenberge, organizer of the 2008 Pat Fitzgerald Fantasy Camp, will speak at the Northwestern Gridiron Network luncheon on Friday and will meet prospective campers before and after the game against Michigan this weekend.

A former Notre Dame quarterback ('70-'71), Steenberge will be on hand to reveal the finer details of the camp, which allows men of all ages and talent level to experience college football as they might never have believed possible.

Northwestern Wildcats football fans have a chance never before offered to non-varsity athletes, thanks to the vision and support of Head Coach Pat Fitzgerald and his staff. From July 9-13, 2008 a limited roster of adult men will get to actually Play for the Wildcats, realizing their personal football fantasy.

The Pat Fitzgerald NU Football Fantasy Camp highlights include: daily team meetings with Coach Fitz, four practice sessions, offensive and defensive strategy meetings with coordinators, recruiting presentation, on-field instruction on offense, defense and special teams by the entire NU coaching staff, and the Purple vs. White Flag Game in Ryan Field.

Steenberge will speak at the NGN Luncheon at Harry Caray's Restaurant, 33 W. Kinzie Ave, Chicago, at 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 28.

Steenberge also will be available to meet with prospective campers at Wildcat Alley, Rocky Miller Park, before the Northwestern-Michigan game (11 a.m. kickoff). Following the game he will be available at the Randy Walker Terrace.

"We have already received our first few commitments from some Wildcats fanatics who are excited to be signed up for the camp," said Steenberge, whose organization Global Football has successfully run camps at Notre Dame and Penn State in previous years.

"The camps make the ideal Christmas presents for the dad or husband who has everything and seeing as our campers have been aged between 22 and 60-something, you are clearly never too old to become a football star."

Along with the actual football experience participants will receive a duffel bag full of authentic adidas `Cats football gear and apparel: home and away game jerseys with the number of your choice, game pants, adidas cleats, duffel bag, practice jersey (with your name on it), camp t-shirt, hat and shorts and a real Northwestern helmet given at the Awards Banquet following the game. As souvenirs each player and honorary coach will be provided a pre-camp personal training program, autographed football by Coach Fitz, team photo and individual photo in game uniform, game and camp highlight DVD's, Fantasy Game program and more.

To make the 5 days / 4 nights comfortable and more entertaining each player will have his own room in the classic Hotel Orrington nearby, eat training table lunch, dine each evening in top quality facilities on campus, and have hospitality beverages available each afternoon following practice and following each dinner.

A very unique element of Fantasy Camp will be the involvement of former star `Cats players who will help out at practices, share motivational stories at mealtime, and be accessible for social time each night where the stories get better!

The Pat Fitzgerald NU Football Fantasy Camp is open now for registration, limited to 60 total participants who have a passion for `Cats Football and want to both be a part of the program, and help support the current student athletes. A portion of the $3990 camp fee will go toward the NGN Fund.

The Camp is produced in partnership with Global Football. For information contact Patrick Steenberge, Patrick@globalfootball.com or 817-219-7274. For registration call 800-366-3772. Information and registration is also available at www.NUFootballfantasycamp.com
