BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -
The Northwestern men's golf team finds itself in ninth place out of 15 teams following the opening day of competition at the extremely competitive Wolf Run Intercollegiate.
The Wildcats posted a team score of 593 through the opening 36 holes of play to put them in a ninth-place tie with Kentucky. Michigan is leading the field after putting up a total of 569.
Kyle Moore (72-75) and David Lipsky (73-74) paced Northwestern with five-over scores of 147 on the day to rank in a tie for 26th place. Also scoring for the Wildcats were Ravi Patel (76-73=149) who is tied for 38th at +7 and Josh Dupont (78-72=150) who is tied for 46th at +8.
Indiana's Seth Brandon is the individual leader after the first day, shooting a five-under 137.
Competition concludes at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate Sunday with a final 18 holes.
