EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named Brandon Roberson (Pearland, Texas/Pearland) of football and Kate Nobilio (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) of volleyball as its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.

The senior running back Roberson ran for a career-high 128 yards, his first career 100-yard game, on 13 carries (9.8 ypc) in the come-from-behind win over Nevada on Saturday. One of his rushes went for 76 yards, NU's longest run from scrimmage since Jason Wright's 77-yard TD run against Bowling Green in the 2003 Motor City Bowl. Roberson's run set up his 1-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to pull Northwestern within four points, 24-20. Roberson leads Northwestern with 172 rushing yards on 24 attempts (7.2 ypc) on the season.

The sophomore libero Nobilio broke NU's single-match record for digs in a three-game contest, digging 31 attacks Saturday night against Towson. Nobilio had 11 digs in each of the first two games before notching nine in the third to set the record. On the weekend, the libero averaged 7.56 digs per game and was 42-for-42 on service receptions. Nobilio's efforts helped NU to its most dominating victories since the inception of rally scoring. She passed Northwestern to a .348 hitting percentage as a team on the weekend, while holding NU's opponents to a combined .016 percentage over the three matches.
