EVANSTON, Ill. -- Three Wildcats will compete for a place on the 2007 U.S. World Team at the World Team Trials June 9-10 in Las Vegas, Nev. Jake Herbert (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny), Eric Metzler (Luxemburg, Wis./Luxemburg-Casco) and Mike Tamillow (Oak Park, Ill./Fenwick) comprise the Northwestern delegation, making NU the only University with three representatives at the Trials.
The champion in each of the seven men's freestyle classes will qualify for the U.S. World Team and travel to the World Championships held Sept. 17-23 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Herbert is competing in the 84 KG weight class, and enters the Trials ranked seventh in the latest Senior Level rankings. Metzler (60 KG) and Tamillow (96 KG) both are ranked ninth.
Weigh-ins take place Friday, June 8, with Metzler and Tamillow's weight classes getting underway Saturday, June 9. Herbert will wrestle Sunday, June 10. All weight classes will be completed the same day they start.
