EVANSTON, Ill. -- Senior Garland Cooper (Mission Viejo, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic) and sophomore Tammy Williams (Roscoe, Mo./Osceola) have been invited to the June 11-15 Women's National Team selection camp, USA Softball announced today.
The pair are among 37 invitees to the camp, which will be held at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif., and will be used to select the 2007 USA Softball Women's National Team that will compete in the KFC World Cup of Softball (July 12-16 in Oklahoma City, Okla.) and the Pan American Games (July 20-30 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).
This is Cooper's second invitation to a USA Softball camp after participating in the World University Games camp last summer. The invite is Williams' first.
Also, fans still can vote for Cooper for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, which recognizes the most complete senior student-athlete in the nation. Fan voting closes Wednesday, May 23, so get your votes in early and often in the next two days.
