EVANSTON, Ill. -- Amy Jaeschke (Wilmette, Ill./ New Trier), who has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Wildcats next season, was invited to the U19 Women's Junior National Team Trials from May 17-20 at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Jaeshke, who was selected as a U18 alternate last year, will compete for one of 12 spots to represent the US at the World Championships, which will be held July 26-Aug. 5 in Bratislava, Slovakia.
The 6-5 center owns a plethora of high school honors, most recently being tabbed a Parade Magazine All-American as well as a McDonald's All-American and a 2007 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) honorable mention All-American. The senior averaged 18.0 ppg and 12.9 rpg in the final year of her standout career at New Trier.
