EVANSTON, Ill. -- No. 11 Northwestern will face sixth-seeded Minnesota in opening round action of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind. Tip is set for approximately 4:30 p.m. CT, or 25 minutes following the conclusion of the session's first game, which starts at 2 p.m. The Northwestern-Minnesota winner meets No. 3 Michigan State in the second round.
The Gophers and the Wildcats played only once during the regular season and Minnesota pulled out a 65-63 victory, thanks to a last-second shot at the buzzer. Complete game notes and further information will be forthcoming.
