EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern's women's fencing team continued their winning ways Sunday afternoon at the NU Duals in Evanston. After a perfect 6-0 record on Saturday, which included big wins over No. 1 Penn State and No. 4 Notre Dame, the Wildcats put together another 6-0 day on Sunday.
They outscored their opponents by a total of 134-28 on the final day of competition, including a win over No. 9 Temple.
NU's 12-0 weekend pushed its record to 36-4 on the season. The 36 wins is a team record, defeating the previous record of 35 set in 2000.
In all, Northwestern defeated three ranked opponents, and defeated Penn State (the No. 1 ranked team in the country) for the first time in head coach Laurie Schiller's career.
