EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named freshman Jake Goebbert (Hampshire, Ill./Hampshire) of baseball and women's swimming's 800 freestyle relay team its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.

Gobbert singled in his first collegiate at-bat opened the season 7-for-14, including a pair of doubles. He scored three runs and knocked in two RBI over the 'Cats' first three games.
