Last Time Out
Behind a sweep of the doubles point and five straight-set singles wins, the sixth-ranked Wildcats downed the Wisconsin Badgers Saturday afternoon, 7-0. NU swept doubles with the 30th-ranked pair of Georgia Rose (Mettawa, Ill./North Shore Country Day) and Alexis Prousis (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) leading the way.

The duo downed Wisconsin's Caitlin Caiati and Elizabeth Carpenter, 8-2. At No. 2, freshmen Samantha Murray (Altrincham, England/Altrincham Grammar) and Lauren Lui (Houston, Texas/Kinkaid) topped Morgan Tuttle and Chelsea Nusslock, 8-3.

Nazlie Ghazal (Temecula, Calif./Chaparral) and Keri Robison (Decatur, Ill./Keystone National) cruised at No. 3 doubles, 8-2, over the Badgers' Nicole Beck and Kim Roberts.

Rose and Prousis sat out singles and Wisconsin defaulted at No. 6, but the 'Cats took all five singles matches in straight sets. Murray, playing at No. 1 for the first time this season, topped Carpenter, 6-2, 6-2.

Lui, ranked 66th, did not surrender a game to Nusslock, 6-0, 6-0. Ghazal, playing No. 3 for the first time this season, had little trouble with Erin Jobe, 6-0, 6-2.

At No. 4, freshman Suzie Matzenauer (Tacoma, Wash./Bellarmine) cruised to a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Tuttle while Robison, playing her second singles match in dual play, downed Roberts at No. 5, 6-0, 6-3.

Scouting the Yellow Jackets
Georgia Tech defeated Notre Dame in the finals of the ITA National Indoor Championships, but the story of the tournament was Tech's win over then top-ranked Stanford in the semifinals. The 4-3 upset ended the Cardinal's NCAA Division I women's tennis record win streak at 89. Stanford's last loss had been on May 18, 2003.

In singles, the Yellow Jackets feature 15th-ranked Kristi Miller, 25th-ranked Kirsten Flower, 52nd-ranked Whitney McCray, 64th-ranked Amanda Craddock and 82nd-ranked Alison Silverio. In doubles, Silverio and Miller are the nation's 40th-ranked doubles tandem.
