Northwestern Names Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named Tim Doyle (Merrick, N.Y./St. Dominic) and Sara Stutz (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) of the Wildcat basketball squads as its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.

Doyle averaged 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists last week as the Wildcats picked up two wins over Brown and North Florida. In the win over Brown, Doyle scored a season-high 17 points and tied his career best with eight assists. He was 8-of-12 from the field, tying his career high with eight field goals, and grabbed four rebounds.

In Saturday's win over UNF, Doyle had eight points and six rebounds as the Wildcats improved to 3-2 on the season. This is Doyle's first-career Hilton Garden Inn honor.

Stutz scored a game-high 16 points, including 13 in the second half, to spearhead NU's impressive second-half comeback against Mississippi at the Junkanoo Jam. The Wildcats were down by as many as 25 in the first half but Stutz put the 'Cats on her shoulders in the second half. Ole Miss edged NU, 61-58.

Stutz then turned in her fifth-consecutive double-digit scoring performance with 10 against Gardner-Webb in a 59-34 victory. Stutz was named to the All-Tournament team. This is her third-career Hilton Garden Inn honor.
