ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Northwestern's women's fencing team participated in the Junior/Cadet World Cup Championships in Albuquerque, N.M. over the weekend. While no team scores are kept, several Wildcats put their skills on display.

In epée, freshman Christa French (Southlake, Texas/Carroll) was Northwestern's top finisher on the weekend, placing third out of 134 competitors. She tied with Courtney Hurley from South Texas. Classmate Joanna Niklinska (Granger, Ind./Penn) placed 15th while sister Kayley French (Southlake, Texas/Carroll) placed 33rd.
