EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern sophomores Eric Peterman (Sherman, Ill./Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin) and Phil Brunner (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) have earned first-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V honors as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
To be eligible for the award a player must be in at least his second year of athletic eligibility, be a first-team or key performer and carry a cumulative 3.20 grade point average.
Peterman, who has yet to declare a major, leads the Wildcats in yards per reception, averaging 15.9 yards per catch. He has 19 receptions for 302 yards and has a touchdown.
Brunner, a chemical engineering major, is the team's long-snapper for punts and PAT/field goals.
As a first-team All-District selection, Peterman and Brunner will be placed on the ballot for ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America consideration.
