Brisbane, Australia - The Big Ten Men's Basketball Foreign Tour team continued its winning ways on Tuesday with a 109-100 victory over the Brisbane Bullets Basketball Club in Brisbane, Australia. After opening the Tour with a loss, the conference squad bounced back claiming its second consecutive triumph to improve to 2-1. Senior forward Tim Doyle scored six points in the win Tuesday.

Through three games, Doyle is averaging 8.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting 53 percent from the field.

The Big Ten headed into the second stanza with a 29-23 lead, however fell behind early as the Bullets tallied a 54-50 advantage at halftime. The conference squad responded in the second half, stopping a Bullets' rally with three minutes left to claim the 109-100 victory.

Illinois' Marcus Arnold and Purdue's Gordon Watt led the Big Ten with 23 points each, while Arnold also ranked first off the boards with seven rebounds. Ohio State's Ron Lewis tallied his third-consecutive 16-point performance of the Tour, while Penn State's Michael Walker fired away from the three-point line, going 4-for-7 to finish the game with 12 points. Michigan's Lester Abram also reached double-figures with 12 points.

"Gordon (Watt) and Marcus (Arnold) led us to the victory today," said Foreign Tour head coach Tommy Amaker (Michigan). "They were very aggressive and played tough - getting rebounds and making their shots. We played a lot of zone today, which I think helped us get into a rhythm." With one game left in the Tour, four players are averaging double-figures in Illinois' Arnold (17.7 ppg), Ohio State's Lewis (16.0 ppg), Michigan's Abram (13.0 ppg) and Purdue's Watt (12.0). Minnesota's Jonathan Williams leads the Big Ten contingent with 9.0 rebounds per game.

The Big Ten Foreign Tour Team will close out the tour on Wednesday, facing the South District Spartans at 8 p.m. (local time). For Tour results, stats, photos and entertaining diaries of the student-athletes, log on to www.bigten.org.
