EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named sophomore Kyle Moore (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Scioto) of men's golf and junior Katie Logan (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol) as its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.
Moore was one of four Northwestern golfers to finish in the top-20 of the NCAA Central Regional Championships, which helped the Wildcats place second overall (among 27 teams) and earn a berth in the NCAA National Championships in Sunriver, Ore.
Moore put together three solid rounds -- a 73, 70 and 71 -- for a 1-over 214, which gave him a share of fourth place in the 141-player field. Moore has finished in the top-22 of his last four tournaments.
Logan sparked a Northwestern comeback in Sunday's regional championship game against Notre Dame by hitting the first pitch of the bottom of the first inning over the center-field fence for the first home run of her career -- at any level of softball.
The Wildcats went on to erase an early 3-0 deficit in that contest to capture the Evanston Regional title with a perfect 3-0 record. Logan collected four hits in the three games and scored a team-best four runs.
