TUCSON, Ariz. -- Northwestern's 41st-ranked women's golf team fired a 6-over 294 on Sunday, but fell two strokes short of defending its Mountain View Collegiate title. Kansas shot a 290 to come from behind and edge Nebraska by a stroke, the Wildcats by two strokes and Kansas State by six strokes.

Northwestern junior Alice Kim (Los Angeles, Calif./Brentwood) fired a team-best 72 on Sunday and finished in 11th place with a 3-over 219 (73-74-72). She was six strokes back of Arizona's Adriana Zwanck, who won the event.

Sophomore Brittany Johnston (Akron, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) placed 14th after finishing the tournament with a 1-over 73 for a 5-over 221 (77-71-73). Freshman Jennifer Hong (Windermere, Fla./The First Academy), who opened the tourney with a 3-under 69, carded a 3-over 75 and finished 21st at 7-over (69-79-75=223).

Sophomore Katie Trachok (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) was the fourth Wildcat to shoot 3-over or better on Sunday. She shot a 2-over 74 and finished 42nd (80-75-74=229).

Junior Heather Scholten (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) rounded out the Northwestern contingent. She shot a 10-over 82 on Sunday and placed 56th (74-79-82=235).

The Wildcats travel to Rancho Mirage, Calif., next weekend for their Northwestern Invitational April 3-4 at the Gary Player Signature Course at Westin Mission Hills.
