Northwestern Hires Jack Morelan as Assistant Director of Facilities

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities Scott Arey announced Tuesday the hiring of Jack Morelan as assistant director for facilities at Northwestern.

Morelan will oversee athletics and recreation facilities on the main campus, and be in charge of game day operations for men's and women's soccer and lacrosse at the Leonard B. Thomas Athletics Complex.

Morelan comes to Northwestern after serving 10 months as general manager of the Tucson Sportspark in Tucson, Ariz., a private outdoor event facility hosting daily volleyball and slow pitch softball leagues, ASA girls fastpitch tournaments, youth baseball leagues, Women's Professional Football and corporate events.

Morelan spent more than four years as a program coordinator and event management at the University of Arizona, overseeing volleyball and softball operations as well as assisting with event coordination for football, men's basketball and summer camps.

He also has overseen game day operations for the NCAA men's basketball tournament and the Arizona Heat of National Professional Fastpitch (NPF).

Morelan graduated from Indiana University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in secondary education mathematics, and earned a Masters of Arts in 2001 from the Center for the Study of Higher Education at the University of Arizona.
