EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's eighth-ranked women's tennis team looks to keep its four-match winning streak alive this weekend when it faces No. 9 Harvard at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17 and opens conference action at home versus 50th-ranked Wisconsin at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Combe Tennis Center.
The Wildcats enter the match after going 2-0 last weekend with a 6-1 win over Alabama and a 4-0 victory over Furman.
The 'Cats have been red hot in both singles and doubles play as of late and haven't dropped more than two points their last four times out.
The Wildcats are lead by twelfth-ranked junior Alexis Prousis (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) who has posted a team-best 21-7 singles record this season while playing most of her dual matches at the No. 1 singles position.
Senior All-American Cristelle Grier (Epsom, England/Putney), who is the nation's 23rd-ranked singles player, enters this weekend having won her previous seven matches and stands at 20-7 overall this year.
Freshman Georgia Rose (Mettawa, Ill./North Shore Country Day) has continued her stellar play this spring and has been victorious in her last 10 singles matches. Rose is 18-6 this year and owns a team-best 6-0 dual record.
In doubles, Northwestern's eighth-ranked tandem of Grier and Prousis went 2-0 last weekend. They now own a 14-2 record this year.
