EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's women's tennis team begins the spring season ranked No. 6 by the ITA after finishing the 2005 season at a program-high No. 5. Junior Alexis Prousis (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) climbs to No. 12 nationally in singles, while senior Cristelle Grier (Epsom, England/Putney) is tabbed as the 23rd-ranked singles player by the ITA.
After compiling a 9-1 doubles record in the fall, Grier and Prousis are ranked eighth in the nation in doubles.
The two will see their first spring action at the Collegiate Tennis Championships Friday, January 13, in Indian Wells, Calif.
