EVANSTON, Ill. -- For the third time this season, freshman Chelsea Davis (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) is the Big Ten Diver of the Week, this time after sweeping both boards Saturday at No. 16 Tennessee.
She scored 291.67 points on the one-meter board, defeating the rest of the competition by more than 23 points. Davis went on to claim a 38-point victory on the three-meter competition and was the only diver to break the 300 mark with a score of 336.29.
Davis surpasses teammate Leanne Dumais (Ventura, Calif./Buena) -- who twice was honored in 2004-05 -- for most Big Ten Weekly honors earned in a season by a Wildcat diver. Davis previously won the award Nov. 15 and Dec. 6 of 2005.
