Northwestern Returns to Pool at No. 16 Tennessee

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Following almost a month off from competition, Northwestern will swim at No. 16 Tennessee Saturday, beginning a three-meet push toward the Big Ten Championships in February. The meet will have two sessions, with the first kicking off at 10 a.m. CT and the second starting at 6 p.m. CT

The Wildcats will swim in three meets during the final month of dual competitions. After facing the Lady Volunteers, the 'Cats take on No. 15 Michigan in Ann Arbor before concluding the year at home Jan. 27 against Iowa.

Northwestern enters this weekend with a 4-3 record after sweeping a double-dual meet against Miami (Fla.) and N.C. State during its holiday training trip to Florida in December.

Sophomore Andrea Hupman (Lawrenceville, Ga./Brookwood) currently ranks in the top four in the Big Ten in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events. She has the fastest time of the season in the 100 free (49.46) and the second-fastest in the 200 free (1:47.40).

Senior Katie Paglini (Chicago, Ill./Latin School) is fifth in the conference in the 200 IM with a 2:03.51, sixth in the 200 back with a 2:00.51 and seventh in 100 back with a 57.09.

Sophomore Katie Braun (Edina, Minn./Edina) is rated in top ten in both fly events and also ranks 10th in the Big Ten in the 200 IM (2:04.61).

Sophomore Jessie Bailis (Omaha, Neb./Millard North) and freshman Hayley Fry (Marion, Iowa/Linn-Mar) are sixth and seventh in the conference in the 100 breast, respectively.

All five of NU's relays have top-four ratings in the Big Ten, while freshman diver Chelsea Davis (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) has turned in the top scores in the conference on both the 1- and 3-meter boards.
