EL PASO, Texas - Northwestern's football team began Bowl Week preparation for the 72nd annual Sun Bowl at the Sorocco Athletic Complex in El Paso, Texas. Practicing in temperatures nearing 70 degrees, the Wildcats enjoyed the warm weather with a spirited workout lasting two hours.

In the afternoon, both Northwestern and UCLA were invited to the Sunland Park barbecue, which took place in Sunland Park, N. M. The Aztec State's own Sheriff's Posse gave each team a real `Southwest' welcome. A band provided live music, and a holiday-style dinner was served.

The real fun began when the players from Northwestern and UCLA competed against one another in a talent contest.

The Wildcats were represented by Anthony Ward, Demetrius Eaton, Scott Brownley and Amado Villarreal.

Ward kicked off the talent show with a jaw-dropping rendition of a song by Shai. His superb singing voice warranted a standing ovation by the Northwestern crowd. Eaton followed and did not disappoint. In arguably one of the best Bill Cosby impersonations around, Eaton wrote and performed a rap song using Cosby endorsements such as pudding pops. Again, Eaton's performance warranted another standing ovation by the crowd. Brownley followed with a stand-up comic act, using brothers Kai and David Oredugba as material. Kai Oredugba is a redshirt freshman for the Bruins. Villarreal ended the contest with lip syncing a song.

On Tuesday, Northwestern and UCLA will have `Breakfast With the Troops' at Fort Bliss here in El Paso. Teams will meet and eat breakfast with troops before they depart to begin service in Iraq.
