EVANSTON, Ill. - The defending national champion Northwestern women's lacrosse team has been picked to win it all once again in 2006, according to Lacrosse magazine's annual preseason college rankings, released in the January/February issue.
This year the Wildcats return four IWLCA all-Americans, including Sarah Albrecht (Sr., Braintree, Mass./Thayer Academy), Laura Glassanos (Sr., Hingham, Mass./Thayer Academy), Lindsey Munday (Sr., Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) and 2005 NCAA Honda Award winner Kristen Kjellman (Jr., Westwood, Mass/Westwood), from last year's team that turned in an impeccable 21-0 record.
The Wildcats captured Northwestern University's first NCAA team title since 1941 and became the first team outside the Eastern Time Zone to win an NCAA lacrosse title, male or female, at any level.

The Wildcats begin their title defense with a three-game road swing, beginning with Maryland at Noon Sunday, Feb. 12 in Baltimore, Md. The 'Cats open up at home at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4 against Ohio.
